fluro satchel

The Cambridge Satchel Company's 'THE FLURO' bag is the 'it' bag of 2011. Taking a contemporary twist on a classic, encompassing s two big trends - neons and satchel bags. I love the bold colours of the bag, but can see myself with a black version for uni next year.

t-shirt

There is something I love about the clean, crisp look of a simple t-shirt.

crochet

I'm infatuated with House of Holland's Crochet Scarf for ASOS. White crochet has always been around for summer, however, nothing compares to House of Hollands electric take on crochet. These remind me of the blankets my Grandma would make, except, these designs exude boldness without a hint of granny anywhere.

mbff diy

Saturday night was spend at Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival, one of the highlight's of Brisbane's fashion scene (which unfortunately is pretty non-existant). A proper post yet to come, this is about what I wore. Inspired by Miu Miu's big pointed collars (see here), I decided to make my own - modified to match my outfit.

Givenchy Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear

The show started with a roar - a snarl projected over the loudspeakers.

Featuring a perfect combination of black, sheer and printed panthers; Givenchy's Fall Collection mixes masculinity with feminine clothing in a remarkable way. Single shapes (such as the loose fitting sweater, varsity jacket or knee length pencil skirt) were worked and reworked through the collection. The models looked simple and sleek, all eyes were drawn to the clothes. Also notable were the accessories - fur-covered cat eye sunglasses, bejewelled collars and baseball caps with cat ears. Riccardo Tisci has captured perfectly the elegance and demeanour of a dark black cat.

RICKOWENS

"The clothes I create are my autobiography, they are the calm I want to get to and the damage I have done along the way"
- RICK OWENS

While I have at times doubted the versatility and wearability of Rick Owens' collections, I have always thought they are so intriguing and powerful. However, after finding heaps of R.O. street style on StreetPeeper, I am newly inspired.

Stockholm Fashion Week

Adored fashion blog fashionsquad, created the most beautiful collages of some of Stockholm Fashion Weeks standout designers.  I guess because of my unfamiliarity with Stockholm and its fashion, these designers were relatively  unheard of by me, but after checking out some of their other stuff, I am really impressed. They have fuelled my desire to go on a fashion tour of the world...
